Anyway, my father introduce this singer , Eva Cassidy.. she sang her own style of " somewhere over the rainbow" (different frm yl one) .She has a really nice voice and talented in playing the guitar.
My dad later told me she has died at the age of 33 of some kind of bone cancer. And she was only known more after she is dead... it has 10yrs since she passed away...
"I have the easiest job in the world. All I have to do is sing and play the guitar."
Eva Cassidy, when asked if her hip injury wouldforce her to cancel some singing engagementsSummer, 1996
Today , i read the newspaper about a father who wrote a book , Secon Dawn that he drew strength from his son's courage. His son ,28 yrs old died from some rare cancer.
i like this part:
" Though in debilitating pain, he prayed for his friends (he drew up a list of names), who had fallen away from the church, to return to the fold. Most nights he sat up in bed to do it, often falling aslee in the process and waking up to continue. The irony was not lost on us: a his life was ebbing away, he was throwing others a lifeline as it were. When good friends visited him in hospital, his parting shot to them would always be: " Don't backslide, otherwise i won't see you in heaven." Heave, indeed, was on his lips. He seemed to be sure of his final destination, but he wanted his friends to be there too."
