My parents are going on a cruise this coming Wednesday. Think it is their first trip out of Singapore without my bro and me. After 21 years, they are finally going for their 2nd honeymoon. I've got to say my parents are quite romantic in a sense. They always go out shopping, swimming, looking for good food, going to sentosa, botanical garden, marina, watching fireworks. This sounds like a normal date. But when u and your partner have spent 30 years tgr, will you be interested to do all this things?

My dad has been a househusband since i was pri 6. I think my mum and dad are really brave, courageous. During that time, i don't think our society has accepted this yet. Why did my mum decided to be the want bringing home income and not my dad. First of all, my mum of coz earns more money and honestly speaking my whole family doesn’t think my mum is suitable for being a housewife. Even when i am a baby i heard my dad is the one who clean me up. And my dad cooks better.

They came to a decision as they felt there is a need to be parent at home to guide us. Actually when my bro was 3 yrs old and I 4 yrs older, my parents both working so we were sent to childcare, day care ctrs. Then my bro was rebellious, very naughty, steal money even borrowed money frm principal (don't think he will return). That’s when my dad stayed at hme to discipline him. My grandma both my dad and mum side could not accept this. Not even my mum's colleague. i realized how hard is on my mum. going to office, saying your husband is not working and is a househusband. . Actually I sometimes felt it hard to tell my frens that my father is not working. My grandparents also look down on us even think we are poor.

From what my mum say, of coz life was hard. Income lessens. I never tot of that when I was in secondary school. I tot I have the best childhood life. Even though my parents could not bring me overseas, we have so much fun in Singapore. Going to Sentosa is must thing last time. Cycling from BB to CCK. Walking in the canal. Playing squash. Going for those family day activities. They also manage to let us go for piano lessons.

I really appreciate what they have done for my bro and I. hope that they will have a fun cruise although it is short one. Ha, I will remember not to be a kapo and feed the fish. Remember once my family when to Malaysia and when we came back all the fish died. The murderer was my uncle. He overfed them tot their appetite is the same as his.
